Clacton Speaks: Nigel Farage Returned to Parliament

The people of Clacton have spoken once again, returning Nigel Farage to Parliament with a commanding victory in the constituency’s by-election.

The Reform UK leader received 22,239 votes, securing more than 63% of all votes cast and finishing 12,784 votes ahead of his nearest challenger, Count Binface, who received 9,455 votes.

It was a contest Nigel Farage had characterised as “the people versus the Establishment” — and Clacton’s voters delivered their verdict.

A Resounding Victory

The Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens all chose not to field candidates in the contest. Instead, Farage faced a remarkable field of 33 opponents, with Count Binface eventually emerging as his closest challenger.

Farage’s 63.3% share of the vote was also substantially higher than the 46.2% he received when first winning Clacton at the 2024 General Election.

Whatever the Westminster establishment may think of Nigel Farage and Reform UK, the decision about who represents Clacton ultimately belongs to the people who live there.

And they have chosen Nigel Farage again.

People Versus the Establishment

For years, Reform UK has argued that too many decisions in Britain are taken by a political establishment increasingly disconnected from ordinary voters.

Clacton provided voters with an opportunity to make their own judgement.

22,239 of them backed Nigel Farage.

The result returns the Reform UK leader to the House of Commons with a larger majority and a significantly increased share of the vote.

For Reform supporters, the message from Clacton is simple:

You can criticise Reform. You can attack Nigel Farage. You can dismiss the movement.

But ultimately, the people decide.

And in Clacton, the people have spoken.
